Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and responsible individual to join our team as a Traffic Control Flagger. The Traffic Control Flagger plays a crucial role in maintaining safe traffic flow and protecting workers in construction zones and other designated areas. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.


Responsibilities:


  • Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic in accordance with established traffic control plans and procedures.
  • Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barricades, to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, construction crew members, and other personnel to coordinate traffic flow and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control measures as needed to address changing circumstances or emergencies.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to drivers and pedestrians to facilitate safe navigation through construction zones and work areas.
  • Maintain a vigilant watch for potential hazards and unsafe behavior, intervening as necessary to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all individuals on-site.
  • Follow all relevant regulations and guidelines governing traffic control operations, including those outlined by OSHA and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
  • Complete required training and certification programs to ensure proficiency in traffic control procedures and techniques.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid flagger certification/license (if required by state or local regulations).
  • Previous experience in traffic control or related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain focused and alert in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • A willingness to adhere to strict safety protocols and always follow established procedures.
